Long ago Beastkind was enslaved Wingkind, but they rebelled and gained their freedom. A thousand years ago Humanity and Wingkind fought in a terrible war and the unity of the Beastkind was torn asunder as Beastkin chose sides or stayed neutral.
All of that is now forgotten.
The elders of all three races have gathered together and forged an alliance to fight the encroaching Soulless. There is more at stake now than petty rivalries. They fight for the survival of their Perfect World.
On May 18 the three races of Pangu join forces to face the Soulless in battle. Closed Beta of Perfect World – Philippines begins.

I am very sure you have encountered people like these. The ones that are doing something wrong and when you point that out to them they get angry. Yes, the self-righteous. The ones that think the rules apply to everyone else except them. In Tagalog: Sila na nga yung may kasalanan sila pa ang nagagalit.
We’ve all seen these kinds of people. I’ve been seeing them pop in and out of message boards for the longest times. These are the kinds of people who do not take the time to read board rules and then get offended when cited for a violation. After all, are they not immune from rules? They are the gods in and of themselves. These are the same people who break in-game rules indiscriminately and then complain that they got banned even though they claim they didn’t know it was against the rules.
You should always RTFM. Such people expect to get away with their actions, but not on my watch they don’t.

I have asked for, and received permission, to share with you these screenshots. First is my cute, little cat pet.
Next up is Horonaim and the Plum Blossom Cat. My avatar is a slightly modified stock model. I had to choose between playing and spending a substantial time customizing my avatar. Considering that this is an internal server I had no need to customize, but I familiarized myself with the customization interface anyway just so I can do it when the game actually opens to the public. There are 5 humanoid models for a Yaojing; the fox, the bat, the cat, the rabbit, and the dragon. I chose the dragon model.
Of course I have to include a screenshot of the two of us battling a monster. That little cat is tough enough to handle that monster alone without any help from me, but I’m casting a Vile Insect spell anyway.

I’ve not been alone in noticing this, but people seem to be missing some very important points about Perfect World.
- Pot spam. If you intend to rely on spamming healing potions to win battles then you’re in for a very rude awakening. In Perfect World you must choose your opponents and your angle of attack very carefully. A mistake could lead to a mob and a quick death.
- Pure stat builds. There is no such thing as a pure stat build in Perfect World. Builds in Perfect World are built around what equipment you intend your character to use.
- Grinding for levels. One of the most unwise things to do in Perfect World is to repeatedly hunt down monsters solely for the purposes of levelling. There are a lot of quests that tell you to hunt a certain number of a specific type of monsters and then gives you Experience points for finishing that task. Why continuously hunt monsters if all you need to do is finish your quests?
- Farming for Skills. This is like grinding for levels, but that mindset does not apply here either. To gain skills you have to meet certain requirements:
- Character level
- Character Cultivation level
- Available Soul Points
- Available funds
By far the easiest way of getting Soul Points is the easiest way you get Experience Points, you finish your quests.
- Quests are optional. No, just no.
- Limited character customization. No, in this game you can look unique. The armors may look the same at certain levels, but you have the option of showing formal clothes without sacrificing the protection given to you by your armor. Facial details and body details can all be customized to a certain detail to make a character that will look unique.
These are all signs that people are brining the mentality of other games into Perfect World. Let me tell you that that is the wrong way to go about it. Comparisons to other games will merely cause confusion. Take the game as it is and play within it and you shall see.

After a few days of waiting since I got my client I was finally able to connect to the internal test server. I’ve been playing for several hours now and I feel that my levelling is quite slow. Part of the reason was because I was adjusting to the world and how things are done.
I am currently playing a Yaojing. I’ll be posting my experiences in the internal test server over at Perfect World Sneak Peek.
Here’s a few things that I have learned from experience though:
- Crafting a lot early on in the game will actually level you up so fast that you end up higher than some of the quests on your list
- You need some puzzle-solving skills and good hand dexterity to accomplish some of the quests
- It is best to go around the entire city/town/village and collect all the quests you can get at one go before performing any of them
- When you don’t have any quests listed, click the button on the upper left corner of the Quest window multiple times then go look for the NPCs with the gold chevron floating atop their heads
- Last, but not the least, do your quests. It’s incredibly fast levelling if you do.
