I’ve not been alone in noticing this, but people seem to be missing some very important points about Perfect World.
- Pot spam. If you intend to rely on spamming healing potions to win battles then you’re in for a very rude awakening. In Perfect World you must choose your opponents and your angle of attack very carefully. A mistake could lead to a mob and a quick death.
- Pure stat builds. There is no such thing as a pure stat build in Perfect World. Builds in Perfect World are built around what equipment you intend your character to use.
- Grinding for levels. One of the most unwise things to do in Perfect World is to repeatedly hunt down monsters solely for the purposes of levelling. There are a lot of quests that tell you to hunt a certain number of a specific type of monsters and then gives you Experience points for finishing that task. Why continuously hunt monsters if all you need to do is finish your quests?
- Farming for Skills. This is like grinding for levels, but that mindset does not apply here either. To gain skills you have to meet certain requirements:
- Character level
- Character Cultivation level
- Available Soul Points
- Available funds
By far the easiest way of getting Soul Points is the easiest way you get Experience Points, you finish your quests.
- Quests are optional. No, just no.
- Limited character customization. No, in this game you can look unique. The armors may look the same at certain levels, but you have the option of showing formal clothes without sacrificing the protection given to you by your armor. Facial details and body details can all be customized to a certain detail to make a character that will look unique.
These are all signs that people are brining the mentality of other games into Perfect World. Let me tell you that that is the wrong way to go about it. Comparisons to other games will merely cause confusion. Take the game as it is and play within it and you shall see.

I have a question, are the fashion armors, customizable as well? I mean, if we are able to design the clothes as well (whether it has long sleeves, or what color it is)

I have not fully explored that facet of the game yet since I’m waiting for load for the item mall so that I can get formal clothes.
However, I can say that there are 2 character display views; normal and formal. When it’s in normal you see the character wearing armor. In the formal view you see the character wearing fancy clothes. Note that using the formal mode does not change the fact that you’re wearing armor so it means you still get the full benefits of being fully armored and yet look stylish.

yes! full customization including clothes is the best part I like about this game and the fact that it wont change the stats regardless if normal or formal then thats waaaay cool!

I wish perfect world had a feature wherein you could upload a picture and let it do the customizing. LOL I spent 2 hours on my first character, went out for a smoke, started over and spent 2 hours again, settled for something that looks like an elfkin, went out to smoke then started drawing on my sketch pad. I guess I’m not going to stop till Im really happy with the character hahaha
