After a few days of waiting since I got my client I was finally able to connect to the internal test server. I’ve been playing for several hours now and I feel that my levelling is quite slow. Part of the reason was because I was adjusting to the world and how things are done.
I am currently playing a Yaojing. I’ll be posting my experiences in the internal test server over at Perfect World Sneak Peek.
Here’s a few things that I have learned from experience though:
- Crafting a lot early on in the game will actually level you up so fast that you end up higher than some of the quests on your list
- You need some puzzle-solving skills and good hand dexterity to accomplish some of the quests
- It is best to go around the entire city/town/village and collect all the quests you can get at one go before performing any of them
- When you don’t have any quests listed, click the button on the upper left corner of the Quest window multiple times then go look for the NPCs with the gold chevron floating atop their heads
- Last, but not the least, do your quests. It’s incredibly fast levelling if you do.

yay yaojing. mam horonaim. can you tell us about the flags.. yellow, silver flags on top of npcs.. yellow = npc has available quest.. etc.. etc.. XD

Ah those!
If it’s a golden chevron (looks like a small shield) it means the NPC has available quests.
If it’s a silver flag it means you have an unfinished quest with that NPC.
If it is a golden flag it means you have a finished quest with that NPC.

horah! thanks for the info mam horonaim. just a question though. can you actually miss some quests if you level too much without talking to some npcs?

No, the quests will remain open.

Is levelling through crafting better than doing quests?
April 26, 2007 at 3:13 pm
Not really, no.
The only reason why I got to forge a lot was because I was provided with a lot (and I mean a LOT) of forging items so I can test out crafting. Come time for real play I will be concentrating more on quests than on crafting.
Besides, crafting is expensive. Some of the items I have can only be bought from the item mall.

Item Mall? But will that cost us more than what we expect? will it be more than the usual load/week payment?
April 26, 2007 at 4:10 pm
In the beginning, it won’t be that expensive. It becomes really, really expensive much, much later on when you’re crafting truly powerful equipment.

Maam Horonaim halos lahat ba ng mga quest u can finish it by ur self , no need for party…?may mga group quest po ba or clan quest…?

Oh goodness no. There are some quests that you really do need to have help especially those for level 40 onwards. That being said there is a level 20 quest that requires you to go into a dungeon, definitely not for a solo level 20.
